Privacy notice

The short version: the Kept app runs on your Mac and keeps your meetings there. This site sets no analytics or tracking cookies. The little data we handle is listed below, with why and for how long.

The Kept app

Recording, transcription, and speaker labeling happen on your Mac. Notes, transcripts, audio, and manifests are written to the vault folder you choose and stay on your machine. Kept never uploads audio, and there is no account and no telemetry.

The app itself creates network traffic in three cases:

This website

kept.mpiv.ai is a static site. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, which rotate on Vercel's own schedule; we do not archive or export them.

If you join the release-notes list, your email address is stored by Buttondown, our newsletter provider, and is used only to send you Kept release notes. It stays on the list until you unsubscribe; every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to have the address deleted outright.

Purchases

Checkout is run by Paddle.com, our merchant of record. Paddle's checkout script loads only after you click Buy; reading this site sends nothing to Paddle. During checkout, Paddle collects the name, email, and payment details needed to process the order and handle tax; see Paddle's privacy policy. We never see or store your payment details.

Your license key is derived cryptographically from the transaction, so we keep no database of keys or customers. After purchase, we look up the order's email address through Paddle once, to send your key from support@mpiv.ai. We hold no purchase records ourselves; Paddle retains order records under its own policy and tax law, and a lost key is regenerated from your Paddle transaction, not from anything we store.

License activation

When you activate Kept, the app sends your license key and app version to our server, which confirms the purchase with Paddle and returns the result. Nothing about your Mac, your meetings, or your vault is sent, and we store nothing from the exchange beyond standard server logs.

Your rights

Email michael@mpiv.ai to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or for anything else privacy-related. In practice what we can hold is your release-notes subscription and your Paddle order; Paddle handles requests about payment records.
